Always read Diane Ravitch before reading any other educational “expert”.  What makes her so great is her actual experience and she worked under both Republican and Democratic adminstrations. She was initially for standards based educational reform until it led to the creation of “Frankenstein’s Monster” with regard to over-reliance on testing, test prep. and technology.
